Species Description
Avocados cross-pollinate by having evolved into two types of flowers: "A" and "B" types. A types are female in the morning and male in the afternoon. B flowers are male in the morning and female in the afternoon. If both types are planted near each other, this gender cycling helps trees make more fruit.
